Soap Wizards Soy Wax
Our soy wax
pastilles work like magic. Our soy wax is free of toxins, harmful vapors
and carcinogens. Soy burns so clean that you won’t need to worry about
those zebra stripes on your walls, darkened ceilings and you won’t be
breathing in those nasty vapors that paraffin candles emit. Of equal
importance, it burns about 30% longer than paraffin.
Our Wizards Wax
pastilles are easy to work with. They are made of soy wax with those
vegetable additives that you need to make them work well in container
candles. They preserve your colors, produce less “frosting” on the jars and
provide excellent burn and fragrance throw characteristics. We use it, we
like it, and we think you will too.
Our votive wax is
also in pastille form and is 100% soy wax. It does not require the adhesion
characteristics of the container wax. Furthermore, you want this wax
to shrink so that it will pull away from your votive molds eaily.
Clean Burning
Let’s face it –
cheap paraffin candles are everywhere. But are they really the bargain they
seem to be? You’ve seen the soot at the edge of the jar and you may have
seen the zebra stripes on your walls. What you probably don’t see is the
damage to your window treatments, ceilings, carpets and upholstery. If they
can damage your house, what might they be doing to your lungs? Is paraffin
really cheaper?
Paraffin versus Soy Wax
Pages and even books
could be written about the health dangers and the household damage that
comes from burning paraffin wax. In a nut shell, soy is superior for the
following reasons:
- Soy candles are
virtually soot free
- Soy candles burn
at a lower temperature and last 30-50% longer
- Because of the
lower burning temperature, soy candles can use all cotton or cotton/paper
wicks rather than lead or zinc core wicks. Once again, a health and
safety issue.
- Soy is a
renewable resource and helps American farmers
- Soy container wax
sticks to your jars and soy votive wax shrinks away from the votive cup
without requiring the use of mold release agents.
- Costly and
questionable additives are not required as with paraffin.
